Back in the Industrial Age, the newspaper was a pretty good idea. You fed journalists' content in the front door, cranked up the printing presses, put the ink on the paper, loaded the delivery trucks out the back door, and distributed the printed newspapers to newsboys who yelled "Extra! Extra!"
Television and radio pretty much use the same model. Substitute TV studio for printing plant.
And what paid for the news? Your time paid for it. The time you spent to read, watch, and listen to Advertising. Big Media rented you out to their advertisers.
That model worked pretty well during the Industrial Revolution.
Time for a new model, don’t you think?
