David Shepherd, who supported our Indiegogo campaign at the Charter Member Plus level (thank you David), asked,
What is the vetting process for the Curators? What experience and proven, insightful analysis do they offer?
Let’s first ask, “What makes a great Curator?”
Knowledge & Passion
A Curator must have a deep knowledge of a subject and be passionate about it.
Research
A Curator will know good content and have the research skills to understand the content.
Understands Needs of the Audience
A Curator must also understand their audience. A Curator is a filter for a specific audience, and must understand that audience.
A good curator filters and guides.
What makes a CrowdNews Curator?
The Crowd in CrowdNews includes both audience and journalist. A CrowdNews Curator will earn the role of Curator by doing.
CrowdNews members will be able to rate and recommend journalists and Newstreams. By recommending, by having an audience follow their recommendations and rate the recommendations highly, members can become CrowdNews Curators.
They will be have the skills and passions outlined above because the CrowdNews audience will demand it.
The Crowd in CrowdNews vets it’s own Curators.
But there are rewards and perks to becoming a Curator, so it will be worth the effort.
Right now I can’t reveal more about roles, perks, and rankings, but stay tuned!
